Hurricane Josh

Hurricane Josh….  That is what his fellow baristas called him. Coffee slinging, milk flying, messy Josh. But look at his window times. He and his bar mate made a district record of the fastest drive through time. All the baristas worked together to get that oh so needed coffee out the window. No waiting….

Josh’s apron always looked like a hurricane had hit!  His fellow baristas knew they would be cleaning up after. I knew every day I would be washing those aprons filled with open honey packets, sugar, Sharpie markers, box knives, coffee stains.

But the smile he always had telling me about their daily window times. An accomplishment each day.

Hurricane Harvey…. The aftermath, the mess. Piles of furniture, memories all thrown to the curb. A record made in Houston. Kingwood destroyed on the inside. Masks worn, white sheetrock powder coated clothes everywhere. People coming together cleaning up and doing their part.

Relieved people smiling from all the help… An accomplishment each day!

Beauty will come from the ashes….

Bill Gaither wrote the song that says:

Something beautiful something good
All my confusion Jesus understood
All I have to offer him is brokenness and strife

But he made something beautiful out of my life.
